Northampton Saints v London Irish

Saturday 13th February 2016

Today we have been to see the Northampton Saints playing London Irish, it was a great game and good the be back at Franklins Gardens.

For the nails I used the teams colours to create patterns on the fingers and I painted the London Irish logo and the Saints stickman on the thumbs.

Right Hand : Northampton Saints

Left Hand : London Irish

Harlequins v Saracens

Saturday 9th January 2016

Today we went to watch Harlequins playing Saracens at the Stoop in London. I love Harlequins as a team so I was so excited!!

We drove down to London and got our seats and the game was fantastic, it was Saracens first loss all season so the local fans were thrilled and there was such a good atmosphere at the game.

For my nails I did a hand per team, showing the teams home kit on the little, middle and index fingers, the teams away kit on the index fingers and both teams logos on the thumbs.

I love how colourful the Harlequins ones are and the contrast between Saracens home and away kits.

Right Hand :  Harlequins

Left Hand : Saracens

Christmas 2015

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope you had a lovely one!
As usual I am doing a bulk post for the Chrsitmas Nails as there are a few, enjoy.

Santa

I wanted to create a design using Santa as the theme. I had a quick think and came up with the idea of putting his coat and belt on each nail. I did all the nails the same, painting the bright red and white coat and adding the black belt and gold belt buckle (using foils). The gold wasnt quite as solid and bright as I had hoped but the overall look was very bright and eyecatching.

Snowman

I loved my snowman nails from a few years ago and decided to try it again. I used alternate iridescent blues for the background before painting on the snowmen by hand. I also added snow and the moon on a few. I loved how cheery the snowmen are and it really made me feel festive.

Christmas Glitter Stripes

This was a very basic idea, green and red with a mix of polish and glitter. I decided to do the candy cane stripes on the index fingers to add a bit of contrast. I painted them silver and used clear polish and glitter to create the stripes.

Flock Christmas Tree Lights

This was an idea from last year which I recreated in exactly the same way. I was still pleased with the idea and the final design.

Rugby World Cup 2015 - England v Fiji

Friday 18th September 2015

Today the Rugby World Cup is starting. I was not sure what to do as a design for it but after some thought I decided to focus on the two teams playing the first game - England and Fiji.

I wanted to use flock as grass so had the idea of creating a rugby pitch. I used flock on the little, middle and ring fingers, adding lines and a rugby ball.
On the index fingers I drew the England and Fiji team logos, and on the thumbs I drew the Rugby World Cup 2015 logos.

I was happy with the results, I do like the flock idea and thought it looked quite exciting.

Meet the Lemurs

Wednesday 8th July 2015

For christmas my boyfriend bought me a day feeding the lemurs at Paradise Wildlife Park. As they are one of my favourite animals I was over the moon and booked it for today.

We took the day off and drove to the zoo and met the handler who took us to see the lemurs. We got into the ring tail lemurs cage and were given a bowl of cut up veg. The lovely lemurs climbed all over us and took the food out of our hands and they were really gentle and the cutest things ever. Once they were all fed and wandered off we came out the cage and went to see the other lemurs in the zoo. It was such a wonderful experience!!

My nails for the day were lemur themed! I wanted to keep it quite basic using grey for the nail tips and used polish and flock to create a ring tail on the ring finger and the thumb. The nails were ace and I loved them nearly as much as the actual animals.

Dad 60th Birthday

Saturday 20th June 2015

Today is my dads 60th birthday and to celebrate we threw him a party - on his request the dress code was gig t-shirts!

My band played and he got up and joined us for a few songs as he is a guitarist. It was a suprise for everyone and it was fantastic, I felt really proud getting to play on stage with him!

As usual I did my nails for the event: I linked each nail to an aspect of his life.

Little finger - Army Camouflage
Ring finger - Camera
Middle finger - Gliding
Index finger - Guitar
Thumb - 60

He liked my nails and he really loved his party, it was great to see how many people came out to celebrate with him.

Happy birthday dad!! xx

Wasps v Tigers

Friday 8th May 2015

Tomorrow I am going to Coventry with my boyfriend to watch Wasps rugby vs Leicester Tigers so obviously I had to do some nails to match.
As I am a neutral fan for this one I decided to do one hand per team.

Left hand - Wasps. I chose to use their kit colours for the index, middle and little finger, their stripy socks on the ring finger and their logo on the thumb.

Right hand - Tigers. Again I used their kit colours on the index, middle and little finger, their away kit on the ring finger and their logo on the thumb.

I am really chuffed with the final design and can't wait for the game tomorrow!

Burns Night Nails

Saturday 31st January 2015

When my mum asked me to paint her nails for a late Burns Night Supper, we came up with the idea of using tartan. As we have family links to the Urquhart tarten I decided to use that.

I picked the closest colours I could get and layered them all up to create the pattern. I finished them in matte top coat to mimick fabric. My mum loved them and so did the others at the party.

Saints v Harlequins at Twickenham

Saturday 27th December 2014

Harlequins Rugby team play one game a year at Twickenham, and this year they invited the Northampton Saints to play. Seeing as they are my two favourite teams I had to get tickets.

I painted my nails for the game using the Saints kit colours, their away kit colours, and incorporated a Harlequins nail too

I hope everyone who went enjoyed themselves x
