Christmas Nails 2013

Merry Christmas everyone!!

I hope you all had a lovely time over the month. As it is my favourite time of year I have absolutely loved it as always. And I have done a few nail designs over the month so I decided to put them all into one post, hope you enjoy x

It is the first of December so what could be more fitting than advent calender nails.
I'll be honest, the image I had in my head of these was a lot better than the final result. I like the idea but did not like how it turned out. It may be something to work on for next year.

After having my Christmas tree up for a few days I got inspired to create Christmas bauble nails. I decided to use one basic colour for the baubles (silver) as I thought multi colours would make the design a bit too busy. To add a bit of change I used 2x different silvers for the base colour and 3x different glitters for the tops. I coloured the outline with various shades of green to give the feeling of branches. I was going to leave it like this but the baubles didnt stand out enough so I decided to do the outline in silver. I love the design and how it turned out.

This design I saw online and fell in love with it. I love the use of jewels for the stars and thought the design was quite classy. I was happy how these nails turned out and was quite sad to take them off.

I had the ides to create Christmas present nails a few years ago but could never decide how best to do it. I was worried I would overdo the colours and patterns and the whole idea had the possibility of turning out badly. This year I decided to take the plunge and kept it as simple as possible.
I started with the base colours, decided to choose silver and gold as they are classic Christmas colours. I looked through my Konad nail stamps for ideas and found a snowflake and a star which I decided to alternate. I quite liked this effect on its own and it reminded me of Christmas wrapping without being too over the top. For the ribbon I chose green and red alternating (matching green to the silver and red to the gold.) I had also found a tree shaped stamp that I decided to use as the present tag. I did like the over all look of these nails. They were fun and bright but not too much.

I spent Christmas Eve at home with my family as I always do and this time I asked everyone if I could paint their nails. My mum, sister and aunty all jumped at the chance so I bought my polishes over. I decided to do snowflakes for everyone and chose basic glittery colours. I painted all the snowflakes by hand and everyone was delighted with their nails and I liked how the white contrasted with the colours so well. I really enjoyed painting other peoples nails again.

Mum: Red glitter with white snowflake moons
Samantha - Blue glitter with white snowflakes on all nails
Lynn - Green glitter with white snowflakes on thumb and accent nail.

I really loved how my aunties nails looked on Christmas Eve so I decided to do the design on my own nails. I love the colours from the glitter and the contrast between the white and the green.

Northampton Saints Nails

Friday 27th September 2013

My boyfriend is a massive Northampton Saints rugby fan and since being together I have developed a fondness for the game. He took me to see them today and I decided to paint my nails to show my support. I really enjoyed the game, especially as they won the game.

Molly Flower Nails

I got asked to paint another friends nails. She said she liked flowers so I went for this design. I used jewels on the thumbs and accent nails. She was very happy with her nails.
