Burns Night Nails

Saturday 31st January 2015

When my mum asked me to paint her nails for a late Burns Night Supper, we came up with the idea of using tartan. As we have family links to the Urquhart tarten I decided to use that.

I picked the closest colours I could get and layered them all up to create the pattern. I finished them in matte top coat to mimick fabric. My mum loved them and so did the others at the party.

Saints v Harlequins at Twickenham

Saturday 27th December 2014

Harlequins Rugby team play one game a year at Twickenham, and this year they invited the Northampton Saints to play. Seeing as they are my two favourite teams I had to get tickets.

I painted my nails for the game using the Saints kit colours, their away kit colours, and incorporated a Harlequins nail too

I hope everyone who went enjoyed themselves x

Merry Christmas

December 2014

Merry Christmas Everyone!

As usual over the festive period I did some Christmassy nails.

Candy Cane Nail Wraps
For the first one I cheated a little and used a nail wrap that I had bought from Avon. It was a shimmery Candy Cane pattern and looked really beautiful when it was on. It lasted a couple of weeks before I had to take it off.

A Charlie Brown Christmas
I have mentioned before my love for Snoopy and you can't have Christmas without a Charlie Brown Christmas. I read through my little book and decided to paint some nails to match. I painted all the images by hand, copying them from the book and finished them off using a matte top coat to mimic paper. I was happy with my little images and loved having a dancing Snoopy close by for a few days.

Flock Christmas Tree
I bought myself some green flock for a previous nail design and decided to use it for a Christmas design. I had the idea of using the flock as the green of a tree and after looking at my jewels I picked a few colours to use as tree lights. I absolutely loved these ones and wished they would have lasted longer (the flock faded and the jewels came off quite quickly over the next few days). I will definitely be tempted to do this again next year.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year x
